The PRISMACOLOR pencils are definitely a softer lead than the POLYCHROMOS and the LYRA REMBRANDT colour pencils…this allows for more pigment transfer when you’re drawing on harder surfaces like wood. More pigment = greater coverage with the same amount of layers; allowing for a more uniform burnishing process. The colours aren’t as vibrant as the LYRAs, but you can’t have everything!

My darlung husband bought me some new coloured pencils, Prismacolors…I’m just colour- blocking (effectively an undercoat) the facial undertones and they’re now my new favourite!
