White canvas is for suckers…

(unfinished piece.)

Using a piece of rounded bark as my canvas…well, let’s just say, it has its own set of problems!

DIY: Free Liquid Watercolours…

art, DIY

Dear mums, teachers & artists,

DO NOT THROW OUT YOUR DRIED OUT/EMPTY TEXTAS OR PRINTER CARTRIDGES; instead, soak them in a small amount of water for a week, and lo and behold…free liquid watercolor (excellent adhesion and vibrant colouring)!

…and, so, like a happy, little artist elf, I went to work.

Not a bad effort huh?!

Hi, I'm Grae Hastings; an aspiring artist... I create because I have no choice. I create to find out the truth about myself… and then to lie. I need my creative process; it holds my sanity and saturates... everything. I actively seek out traditional and modern art techniques and subvert the intended process – the ensuing chaos always gives way to exquisite mistakes. I am constantly experimenting through odd pairings of archaic and obsolete crafts, whilst also manufacturing techniques of my own. I blur the line between art and aesthetic decoration, making my pieces glitter mockingly; always they perch precariously between opulent delight and gaudy flamboyance.
