GENESIS’ work-in-progress (2018)
MIXED MEDIA: found-object sculptural installation.
Once the composition is finished, I’ll ensure everything is painted one of the many shades of pitch-black, effectively tying all the different aspects together.
Then I’ll buff, burnish and accent till my heart’s content (*hint: it’s never content…)
And using rhinestones to finish it off; adding a little twinkley-sparkle, and then, because I, well, always… will add just a touch more. Because I can’t help myself. And yes, I’m aware of what I am…
Final touches all applied…finally finished. Just need to seal and varnish. Super satisfying to get something completed in the midst of kiddy chaos!
Finishing work with children…
(unfinished, mixed media)
I am so tired, I literally fell asleep, with my head on the wall, mid-artwork; all in some vain attempt to fit art in…somewhere. Anywhere. Really, anything will do. Anything.
(unfinished piece, 2017)
MIXED MEDIA: coloured pencil, gouache, ink, clay, gesso, polymer clay, leaf pressings, feathers, wood laminex, applique, false eyelashes, snail shells & jewels on distressed, recycled wood.
I spent a long time simply making all the different elements and types of leaves and so, when it came to constructing the 3D elements of this piece, I kept hesitating. What if I couldn’t get it to work? It was a question I didn’t really want answered…
But I finally braced myself and…voila. It’s working so far; now for the faces and filling the little gaps within the petal mass. Wish me luck…
Tick-tock, I must finish this clock!
This will take forever…I kind of wish I wasn’t so obsessive; so, I could just, simplify the needed detail!
I am, seriously, loving my new pencils! ♡♡♡ so many colours and shades; I’m in heaven!
She’s finally finished! Artistic endeavors, time & toddlers don’t mix; , recipe for disaster much?!
